The KTP laser is used to successfully treat facial redness, broken capillaries and angiomas (red dots), rosacea and port wine stains.
KTP is a laser that specifically targets vascular lesions, dilated/broken capillaries, cherry angiomas as well as brown pigmented lesions on the skin. The laser works by heating the vascular walls and melanocytes causing them to weaken and shut down. The body will then absorb the vascular and shed the pigmented waste.
Patients will experience a slight tingling and warm sensation during the treatment, but a chilled sapphire tip on the laser makes it a comfortable experience. When these vascular lesions are shut down and brown spots are targeted a more even skin tone is achieved.

Most patients experience considerable improvement after one to two treatments depending upon the skin condition and level of treatment.
After the body has had time to shed and absorb the pigmented and vascular waste (typically one to two weeks) the skin is noticeably clearer, redness is reduced and brown spots are lighter or often times disappeared. Exceptional results can be achieved and maintained with occasional follow up treatments, proper skin care and sunblock.
Following a treatment, your skin may appear slightly flushed and swollen. These effects usually subside after a few hours/days depending on the intensity of the treatment. In most cases, sunspots and age spots will darken and flake off and facial veins will disappear or darken before being absorbed. Special care should be taken to limit sun exposure to the treated area for at least a week. Sunscreen and in most cases make-up may be applied immediately after treatment.
