Dr. Buckley is a fellowship-trained, board-certified Mohs micrographic and reconstructive cosmetic surgeon. A Kentucky native, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and his medical degree from the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed a residency in Family Medicine at the University of Kentucky before pursuing a Dermatology Residency at Nova Southeastern University and Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, where he was elected Chief Resident in his final year.
Following residency, Dr. Buckley completed a highly competitive ACGME-accredited Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Procedural Dermatology Fellowship at the Skin Institute of South Florida. His fellowship encompassed Mohs surgery, cosmetic and laser procedures, and facial reconstructive surgery. Among the first to achieve board certification in Mohs surgery, Dr. Buckley has spent the past 15 years exclusively treating skin cancers in South Florida – one of the most demanding regions in the country. He is now among the most experienced Mohs surgeons nationwide, having performed more than 45,000 cases. His expertise in cosmetic surgery allows him to optimize the aesthetic outcomes of his patients’ reconstructive procedures following Mohs surgery.
In addition to dual board certifications in Mohs surgery and dermatology, Dr. Buckley is passionate about education. He has served as Fellowship Director of an ACGME Mohs surgery fellowship training program and as clinical surgical faculty for multiple dermatology residency programs. He is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Buckley is an avid pilot and finds some of his greatest enjoyment in flying. He also loves spending time outdoors—fishing, boating, hiking, and exploring nature whenever possible.
