Melanie Zahner, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon who sees patients at Aesthetic and Clinical Dermatology Associates in Hinsdale and St. Charles. She provides comprehensive dermatologic care, including mole and skin cancer screenings, and evaluates changing moles and other lesions that may require assessment for melanoma.
Dr. Zahner treats skin cancer, including basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas. When appropriate for the diagnosis and treatment area, she performs Mohs surgery. She explains the findings and available treatment options so patients understand their next step.
Dr. Zahner is a native of the western suburbs of Chicago. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Loyola University Chicago before earning a Master of Science in biomedical and health sciences at Barry University in Miami, Florida. She then graduated with her medical degree from the University of Texas School of Medicine in Houston and remained in the area to finish her internship at Christus St. Joseph’s Hospital. She returned to Chicago to complete her dermatology residency at Cook County Hospital, where she was named chief resident in her final year.
Dr. Zahner is a board-certified fellow of the American Society of Mohs Surgery and board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology. She has hospital staff appointments at Hinsdale Hospital, LaGrange Hospital, and Delnor Hospital. She holds memberships with a number of professional organizations, including the Academy of Women in Science, American Academy of Dermatology, Chicago Dermatological Society, and Texas Medical Association.
